  1. Hello,

I have a collection of movies that i recorded in mpeg 2 and compressed to mpeg4 using the XVID codec a while back so i could put them onto CD-Rs, I have just ordered up a Aopen DVD+R/RW recorder and am wondering if the mpeg4 movies i have will be able to be burned to DVD-Rs and played on a DVD player? thanks ahead of time

  2. As far as I know, only the KISS player can playback Div-X movies, and even then it cannot playback certain variations of Div-x, such as 3.11 alpha (I'm not sure about X-ViD). For the player you have just purchased, you would have to convert the Div-X files back to MPEG1 or MPEG2, in which case you would probably get generational encoding losses far too severe to make it a worthwhile procedure
