Hi there guys,
I wanna purchase a big quantity (100+) of recordable CDs and I have a few questions :
1) I was wondering if the 80 min CDs are as good in quality as the 74min, cause sometimes the 80 min are cheaper than the 74 min. The CDs will contain either music to be played on my CD player or SVCD to watch on my standalone DVD player. Are there any compatibility issues whatsoever regarding the 80 min CDs ? Should I prefer 80 min CD's over 74 min ones ?
2) I found that some NO-NAME CDs are MUCH-MUCH cheaper than the common ones ($0,26 without jewelcase). Is it worth it ? I mean, being NO-NAME, are they to be trusted or will they be useless after a few months ?
3) I am searching for cheap and of good quality CDs that will not deteriorate in a few months/years. A CD's "lifetime" is very important for me..Has anyone got any recommendations ?
Thx in advance.
P.S : For what it's worth, I live in Europe (Greece).

I've had no problem making (S)VCD's with no-names from MicroCenter ($18/100) and having them play on either my pc's or SMC-330s DVD player. They are supposed to be 80min, but I rarely use more than 65min (3 1/2hr shows w/o commercials) or 640MB.

How about "lifetime" ? Shall they be of the same quality after a few years or will they be useless ? I'm aksing that because several audio CDs I made a couple years ago, are now usefull because they get stuck on the same point when playing and then all I can hear is noise...

I have read some where that different layer of CDR make different for the lifetime. For example Green/Gold layer will last only 10 years, Dark Blue will last 50 years and Gold goes for 100 years.
