  1. Hi!
Anyone out there may help me?
I make SVCDs and DVDs of my DV films after editing and authoring them in my PC and watch them with my desktop DVD player.
Sometimes I share discs with people I know. No problem! Just make another copy of the disc!
    ---------
I got the problem when non-DVD people wanted a VHS copy.
No problem I thought!! I just copy "my own" DVD disc to my VCR.
    ----------
    The result was lousy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made the settings in my DVD player (3000 and 4000), but it was still bad.
Then I put a black box between the DVD player and the VCR, but there were still blue vague horizontal stripes in the tape.
    ----------
    The question:
How do I get my own VOBs to a VHS tape with a decent result?
I have an AV/DV card in my PC!
    Thanks!

    larse,

I'm not familar with your capture card per se' but the process should be the same.

I use the ATI AIW card and when I want to make a VHS tape I plug the Video OUT from the ATI card into Video IN the back of the VCR, then plug the Audio OUT of my sound card into the Audio IN the back of the VCR. Then I change the monitor to TV mode, hit record on the VCR and play the video full screen with the ATI File Player. This records the original file directly to the VCR tape.

I've never tried taping from my DVD player to a VCR because I have a dedicated VCR hooked to my computer specifically for when we have to make tapes for people that prefer that format.

If your capture card has a video OUT jack you shouldn't have any problem taping directly from your computer to the VCR.

    Good luck.

Thank you, I am now recording your way.
I was lucky to have a videocard with a tv-out, which I could use. Icould not find a way to configure my capture board.
My result has a black boarder on all 4 sides, but I dont mind. The screen is just a little bit smaller.

This program could probably take care of that.
