  1. OK, here is the deal... I am having problems with my DV capturing via firewire. It seems that I can capture at least 5 minutes of video without any frame droppage and then all of the sudden major droppage occurs. This was capturing on my primary single drive. I have a Compaq (mine is not that bad ) with a Maxtor 5400 RPM 40 GB drive. I am sure that this is my problem. I have a 30 GB 7200 RPM ATA 133 that should be here today if UPS can get through the ice and snow. Would I be ok putting the drive on the primary IDE channel as a slave or would I be better to just put in an PCI IDE/RAID Controller right off the bat that will run the drive at 133? Or, would this just be overkill? I can get a controller card shipped for under $30 [Syba brand, of which I have several Syba cards and never had a problem one] Thanks!

If your new drive is ATA133 and your old drive is ATA66 put the new drive on separate channel. If they share the same channel your 133 drive will be limited to 66.
