  1. Well, finally figured out how to capture properly. I've been using PICVIDEO, but their banner is always in the output. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've looked it up on google, and you used to be able to register it for free, which appears to no longer be the case. Downloaded a couple hacks, but have no idea where to put the serials in Windows XP

    Can anyone help?

  2. Costs 18 dollars for non-commercial users the last time I looked.

  3. I would love to buy it, but at this point money is kind of tight. Is there any other "free" compression codec out there that might do the trick. One on par with PICVIDEO? I've tried HUF and the files are way too big. DIVX just seems to be a pain in terms of converting audio..

    Any help is appreciated.

    Merry Christmas!

When one chooses to dabble in digital video, somewhere along the way one must pay(cap card, codecs, large harddrives, fastmachines, software, etc...).
Or you could put letterboxing on all your caps to block out the nag banners
    (it's still $18 US)

  5. If you want to use the current version of the PicVideo codec, you will have to fork up the money.

HuffyUV is a good free alternative, though it doesn't have the higher lossy compression modes that PicVideo does.

Probably the only way of getting the older and freeware version of PicVideo MJPEG codec is by installing the ShareWare version of "ShowShifter". If you are really tight on money, then do this.

Otherwise, support PicVideo and pay up!

    Regards.
