I have some mpegs in VCD format that I KNOW are ok because I've burned them and they are fine on my DVD players and they previously played fine.
But recently they seem "speeded up" especially if I jog through them a bit. Anyone else ever had this problem?
I've downloaded a few codecs required for some recently obtained movies but I'm not sure if that is the culprit.

note the bold word, there's your problem, i have a similar problem sometimes, only mine's with audio, and it in turn speeds up the whole movie, usualy if i reboot and just go straight to watching the movie it'll work at normal speed, if not, partition your HD back up all your files and reinstall windows.Originally Posted by SteyrAUG

I had the same problem in windows, and it started right after I installed Ulead DVD-Workshop. I think that it is caused by the direct-show filters that it added, the ones by LSX. I stoped using it after I instaled another program that changed the filter that is used for MPEG playback.
Is there any program you installed recently afterwhich this problem started?
