  3. They sell software, but offer no support for their product? What kind of a Mickey Mouse outfit are they?

  4. Yes they offer support, they have a web forum, a toll free number. Why even reply if ignorance is all that comes out?

Anyway, CANADATECK, you need to specify your dvd writer, media you are using, DVDXCOPY version and movie you are trying to backup.

I personally have not seen the messages you have specified. The only error I have received was when I tried burning on cheap Compusa DVD-R's.

Haven't tried the newest version (1.3) with this media, but I only have 4 more. Glad they were given to me. Princo works great for me.

And, like NYPLAYER said, check their forum out.

  6. CANADA, which player are you trying it in????

Have you tried it in your Pioneer A04? If so, how does it play on your PC??

Is your backup from an original??

I know what you mean about the forums, tried getting on earlier today, but was having problems. I think that is due to an afterdawn.com problem.

My standalone will play all of my backups pretty choppy for a few seconds then shut off the player. It is a cheap player anyway, which is why my Xbox is my primary player.

    Let us know.

It seems to work pretty well for you, so I thought I'd give it a shot!

  8. Well I use DVDxCOPY version 1.0625 beta and 1.2.1 and both work perfect, no errors yet and I have done 30 backups, I am using a HP 200DVDi +R burner, my brother bought a Pioneer A105 and returned it because he could never get it to burn correctly with DVDxCOPY or NERO 5.5.917, I'd start looking towards the burner as your problem, this forum is full of questions and problems relating to mostly pioneer and Sony DVD Burners, My HP has worked with any program I have thrown at it including any media no matter how cheap.

Just trying to help solve a problem, not knock a software developer that one knows nothing about.

    End of discussion

  10. Perhaps some of us just know this "software developer" a little too well. For a long time their concept of "support" was pointing people to free community forums such as this one.

  11. I know this isn't very helpful, BUT: IFOEdit and DVD Decryptor are freeware and work much better

Hmm would this "developer" be the kind of road apple that takes freeware programs, written by others, and sells them for a profit, while giving none of the money to the actual authors? Please tell me no one is that low....

Sure, you always remove region protection on the copies you make of DVD movies, and there is no need to buy anything, it is done with free software - just look here:

  16. I personally like DVDXCOPY, not only do they give you great help they try their damnest to get you going if your having trouble. You may have to read the forums awhile to find that someone else has the same problem and possible anwsers.
I have both 1.2.2 ver and 1.3. I had 1.2.2 installed and upgraded to 1.3 and had all kinds of trouble so went back to 1.2.2 and have burned over 60 disc with no problem, so if you take the time and look through, use search on the afterdawn forums, I bet you could solve your trouble.
Very helpful to have all info handy like VER. BURNER BRAND,SYSTEM SETUP, so one.
    Good Luck

I´m using the HP and the Pionner DVD Writers, but with my DVD Player I have an strange problem :

HP - Use NERO with DVD-ROM UDF-ISO. Works very well.
But with Pionner - ONLY works with NERO DVD-ROM UDF.

My DVD player is an Pionner DVD-353. I tried a lot until understand this diference with the two DVD Writers and the compatibility with some DVD Players.

    This may explain some problems.....

    Good god.............

The software works no problem, it is not the software.

I personally have tried the media switch, I have found if the player has problems with one brand of media, it will usually have problems with another brand.

I have an RCA standalone (RC5215P), it says on the unit it plays VCDs but I know for a fact that it don't. No matter which media I use.

CANADA, you may want to try a different player if possible.

Just because this site may say a player will play a certain media type does not mean it really does. Lots of people spreading bad info unfortunately.
