I use Pinnacle 7 (7.15) to edit. I normally render it right in Pinnacle and then struggle to find a program that will author it. Moviefactory had a major problem with the MPEGs created from Pinnacle 7. Half the time it would not recognize them and when it did, the "slider" to nagivate the chapter settings would stick and freeze making it impossible to set chapters. Out of desperation, I bought Moviefactory 2 hoping for an improvement. It clearly recognizes the MPEG but has the same problem navigating through the file (the slidebar). It sticks and jumps all over the place. I then tried an MPEG of the same size created through Ulead Videostudio 6 and it worked perfectly with the program. Has anybody had similar problems with Pinnacle rendered MPEGs. Thank you.

What about Pinnacle Studio 8 for authoring ? Not sure if it is still valid but I saw that they were selling it for $19.99 after MIR week or two ago in CC or BB.
