    I've had this problem for ages, but have now identified that it's definately MMC that's causing the problem, as I've just done a full clean reinstall of XP. As soon as I get to installing MMC 7.6, the reboot takes around an extra 2 minutes, and installing the DVD player and MMC 7.7 doesn't fix it (I can't install MMC 7.7 either without 7.6).

    Any ideas?! It's really getting on my nerves now!

    where does one get mmc 7.7...
    don't see it at ATI.com, just 7.6beta...
