FFmpegX manual?

I'm a newbie, and having problems getting a DV film converted to SVCD. Have tried MissingMpegTools, MediaPipe and FFmpegX. Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing, as I still have no SVCD output...

A manual or tutorial would help, all the ones here seem to be PC specific, which helps little when I'm on a Mac...

There is a FFmpegX manual in this forum, you need to do a search for it though. Which happens to be the reason why I am coming to this forum right now, to check something in the manual.
