  1. Since I'm a first time DVD maker bear with me if some of this is general.

The reason I'm writing is that I have the above combo, Pioneer DVR-105 drive using Nero 5.5.10.0 to make DVD's to watch on my Xbox. I'm using two types of media. The first is a Memorex DVD-RW and the second is a generic DVD-R disc purchased from www.meritline.com.

I first made my DVD movie (authored in DVD Workshop) on the memorex CD-RW. It played fine in my PC but when I stuck it into the Xbox it didn't play at all saying no disc found. I wasn't worried because it was a -RW disc and I could try again. So the second time I used the same process with the generic DVD-R and the got the same result. No playing.

This puts me in the spot now of doing some research. I'm using my -RW disc and following the proceedure to burn in Nero with UDF 1.02 mode to see if that resolves anything. Afterwards I'm going to try burning directly from DVD Workshop and see if that helps.

But my question is... what is recommended to me that I do to get my video playing on the Xbox?? Other than purchasing more DVD-R's. I know some generic brands don't work and I'm still learning. Any tips or advice would be greatly welcome.

Actually Nero 5.5.10.0 is newer than 5.5.9.17 and was released just last week if I remember right.

But I did manage to get my disc's to work after burning them right in DVD Workshop.
