I want to be able to watch DVD on my TV via my PC - in the UK
On the PC side I am running Win98, I have WinDVD and a CD/DVD drive. I have just installed the nVidia GeForce2 MX400 PCI card and updated the drivers. I have an SVideo cable from the card to a converter to Scart. I have a feed from the motherboard speaker connection to a NAD amplifier to drive my hi fi speakers.
On the TV side I have a monitor with Scart connector, a VCR with Scart and a Sky box with 2 scarts. The video connects to the Sky box, the Sky box to the TV all via Scart. I have tried plugging the Scart on the svideo cable to the TV direct and to the VCR input on the Sky box. This before booting the PC with the TV switched on. I have used the nView software to select the TV as device and set WinDVD running on the PC (Mars Attack as test video!)
Following all this I am not getting any result, I think there is a basic concept that I am missing.
I would also like to capture from the VCR through the Scart connector. I have a Hauppage card installed with WinTV software. This card has coax and 3 composite sockets but no SVideo. I have been using VirtualDub to capture thro this card with coax connection. I assume that I can use the nVidia card with SVideo for capture connection. I installed the TV Capture software from the nVidia CD but no front end has appeared on the PC. Again I think I have missed a abasic concept - should the nVidia capture be accesible thro Windows Media or RealPlayer perhaps.
I would be grateful if any one can offer advice or point to some illuminating source.

I am not farmiliar with your card, but with my ATI AIW you have to enable TV out, this is done by selecting customize my desktop (by right clicking on the desktop) clicking on settings then advanced then displays and enabling TV out from there.
Perhaps that is what you meant by
