I can confirm that my dvd rip speed on DVD Decryptor is 2.1 MAX
Is anyone getting higher speeds with this drive? What's the problem? How can one uncap it?

All DVD drives made after 2001 must have their DVD rip speed limited to 2 x (incl the Sony 500). I guess a firmware update may get around this - but I don't know of any such firmware updates. In short - use an old drive to rip with and you'll get the maximum DVD read speed as your rip speed.
