  1. I saw a post that stated this was basically a Ricoh 5125 series drive. If this is correct please email me. I can't find a program that will recognize this burner. I want to be able to make 1:1 copies of DVD. Can anyone help? I need a software program that will recognize this drive? I bought this drive from Fry's and it came with junk software. (B's recorder). If this is a Ricoh Drive can a install the Ricoh drivers for it and make these software programs recognize the drive? I want to use DUD-DVD or DVD X Copy if possible. Any suggestions?

  2. I think that all 2.4x speed +r/rw burners are ricohs, but im not 100%. The specs are EXACTLY THE SAME across the board, Anyways, try the newest version of Nero. I have a Sony DRU 120 and it has the same specs as yer ikabana(so glad i didnt buy that now! FRYS is janky) and I have some issues with some burning programs, but my biggest issue is usually with the media. Some media isnt recognized by certain programs, so try to get either Verbatim or Memorex DVD+Rs, I have had no media issues with them ever. Good luck

Ikebanas site says their -R/W drives are from Pioneer and their +R/W drives are from Ricoh.
So, its an rebadged Ricoh 5125.
I dunno what drivers/firmware you wanna use or using now.
I have a Ricoh 5120 and upgraded from official 1.37 to 1.50 rpc1 and 1.70 rpc1. No problems detected - works perfect since 6 months now.

Others have reported similar experiences with the rpc1 firmwares for Ricoh's 512x drives, so it seems to work too.
There are dozens of rebadged Ricoh 512x drives on the market now and some were problematic with the (unofficial) Ricoh fw upgrades but most not.

You should check here: www.mediaforums.net & www.firmware-flash.com for more infos.

    Good Luck! 8)
