How can I obtain still images from captured avi.

How can I obtain still images from captured avi. I dont know what program to use. I need the captures to make a menu on my VCDs.

VirtualDub will let you capture a frame to the clipboard which you can then paste into something like paint to save as whatever. If your avi is interlaced you can apply a deinterlace filter in VirtualDub to give a better image, if necessary.

Use virtualdub.

Open the avi file, select the frame you want and select the mark in and mark out points on the same frame. Then select file->save image sequence.
