I've read that VirtualDub only works with VFW drivers, and that WinXP only supports WDM drivers.
When I try to capture with VirtualDub, it says it can't use the Hauppauge driver, for the above reason, I assume.
While I can use the Microsoft VFW wrapper, I've heard it's not a good option.
Is there any way to work around this issue, and use VirtualDub with a WDM driver? Thanks.

I have used VirtualDUB capture with an ASUS 9180 VGA/Capture card using the WDM drivers under XP. To enable the WDM capture you must tick the Overlay mode in the Video menu.
VfW capture is called compatibility mode and is much slower than overlay (WDM) mode.
However, I have had nasty experience with Hauppauge cards. I have one sitting on a shelf because I can make it work reliably. The drivers suck. It could be that you are having trouble with the drivers.
