    Im looking to buy a new dvd player and have lots of SVCD and VCD and was wondering which was better at playing S/VCD and DVD as well a
    JVC XV-S300BK or Mintek DVD-1600 also i usually burn my movies at 8x cause some people say that burning at certain speeds dont work on some players thanks alot for any help and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    i would say look at the dvd section and do some reading but most of all i would do as most do and take some test disk with me to store and see if they read them. if thats not available to you take suggestions from dvd section. you can always take back and exchange if you are not happy. i love my rca but i dont like to recommend it because a friend of mine has nothing but trouble with his and he was not in a position to take back or exchange. i would prolly go with the jvc though if i had to choose between those two.
