multiple vcds into a transitioned ,titled , masterpiece?

i record the simpsons using power vcr.i skip comercials and since there is no pause button , i stop. so every show has 4 parts to it. i then took the four parts into win moviemaker to join, transition,title. well moviemaker kept crashing.video studio will do it but only out of sync.

i decided to live with the shows being in 4 parts and they join when i author them.but id like to know a good easy method of joining vcds into one file . i have alot already in vcd that id like to join

What format are these parts in? If they are mpegs, then TMPGEnc will merge them together (use the tools button). It may also merge avis and other formats but I have not personally tried it.
