XVID is a pain in the butt. I see many people are also having problems converting XVID to SVCD too.
I Attempted to convert an XVID with AC3 Audio (5 channel 48 KHz). First used DVD2SVCD to convert to MPEG2 (SVCD). Audio extraction worked perfectly. Then CCE 2.5 creates a VAF file but then balks at the MPV creation with checksum error and stops there.
I suspected that the blasted Green Blip at the start of all XVID files was causing the problem so I changed the CCE ECL file to Encode from frame 135 to end of movie. This worked! However now I was stuck with audio that started from frame 1 and video that started from frame 135. Obviously Muxing the two was not going to work. So used Besweet to set audio delay -5632.0400500625782227784730913642 ms (or 135 frames) and recreated the MP2 from the extracted AC3. Used pulldown on the MPV. Then Muxed the A+V and Voila! Perfect Mpeg2.
Is anyone esle having this problem? Any ideas why encoding from frame 0 of an XVID file gives this error on CCE?
