  1. well ..ia m learning how to convert AVI movies to VCD..and have some problems...my first problem was that when ia had use the predeterminated options that TMPGEnc have to make and VCD in the computer was perfect but at the time to play it on my DVD player the sound was 1 second back from the video...well i did fix that makeing the converting the audio to 96k/sec..and now the problems that i can fix.

1º: the movie look "good" but the pixels that are BLACK had a VERY bad quality, i mean you see it on the TV like big black squares, all the other colors are perfect, the problem is only when the image (originally)...is black or a very dark image (like in the night on the street or something like that)

2º: i CANT make fit 1 movie of 100 minutes on 1 CD..i had follow one by one the tutorials...and the options that say the TMPGEnc say that the file "will" fit, ...well i go to sleep..and in the morning when i go t see the file, it doesnt fit...aaaaaaa.

3º: well point 2º is not too much importante...but is some one can tell me good....and finnaly, some one please can tell me ALL the TMPGEnc options to make a GOOD conversion from and AVI file to a VCD that look perfect on 2 CDs (avi file i mean ...any movie that some one download from direct connect or edonkey..or things lika that..).

    ....please...some one answer....i know is a looooooong mensagge...but please....help!!!!!!

i think your problem is trying to fit 100 minutes on a cd. you can't do that without making the movie horrible to look at. personally, i use mpeg 1 with a resolution of 720x480 with a bitrate of 2000kb/s. the audio at 224kb/s. this is called an xvcd. it will fit around 48 minutes per cd at great quality. on a 35" anyway.

  4. if your dvd player is ok with vcd's then chances are it'll be ok with xvcd's. there's a guide on this site in the how to section telling you how to fit a 2 hour movie onto 1 disc. you have to make your own template in tmpgenc but the guide is very easy to follow. also you can up your video bitrate by decreasing your audio bitrate if your not too bothered about running your movie through a home theatre system. i always drop mine to 128kb/s. i always use the 1 disc template even if its a really long film (over 1.75 hours) and i split the film in half in the source range tab in tmpgenc. that way i'll get a higher bitrate and therefore better quality. as for your settings choose high quality
