  1. Does anyone own a Cendyne DVD Writer? I have one, but haven't installed it yet, but was wondering how reliable they are? And is this a pretty good one to have?

Mine was $169 (after $50 rebate) at Office Max.

    Thanks for your reply.

  4. Be honest, I dont' really think Cendyne makes (built) their own drives. I mean why you buy a drive that can only burn disc at 2 x instead just go buy one that can burn 4x---only 200 something.

Well, ur price is good. I think that is all.

Besides I rather buy the toshiba's dvd burner at least i don't think it has any problems.

  5. The Cendyne 105(pioneer AO5) same drive do burn at 4X with the 4X media, and the have faster ripping speed and a 16X write speed CD-burner better then the $300+ Sony DRU500A.

I bought the Cendyne 104 model about a month ago at Office Max and I flashed to the 1.31 firmware. Upon opening the box mine had a Pioneer sticker on it and is recognized in XP as the Pioneer 104. It burns the 2x rated Ritek blanks I bought from Meritline at 2x with no problems. I was going to buy the new 4x Pioneer model but knew that getting into the DVD burning scene for $200 was hard to turn down since the A04/104 had proven itself to be top notch over time. After seeing some of the posts here about the new A05 only burning some of the 2x rated discs at only 1x I am happy with my choice. That extra 15 mins. mine takes isn't a big deal to me. I didn't know that Cendyne was selling the 105 model yet. I will have to keep my eye open for that.

  7. Cendyne does sell 105s and I have seen it on local stores. However, I don't like the price. I rather just go get a Pioneer 105 (at least it is Pioneer)

the Pioneer and the Cendyne are the exact same drive, the Cendyne is the OEM version...the main difference between the two will be the bundled software package, which in my case, wasn't the most important factor

and yeah, I got the same deal at OfficeMax, they ran out of the 104s, so they handed me a 105 instead

  14. aceattorney.

Damn, that was a good idea to sell one on e-bay! I wish I would have thought of that. I live in the Dallas, Texas area and they had PLENTY of them that weren't selling. $169...after the $50 rebate Thanksgiving offer.

I could have been a rich person by now for Christmas.

you would've had to sell them without the UPC code, which would detract the value quite a bit on ebay...only way I could see him makin the 270 was by buying it at the 219 price (without using 50 rebate) and selling it with the UPC still intact...but i could be wrong, but it is still an awesome idea and a great deal of money, wish i had thought of that

from what i saw last time i checked, a few weeks ago, my staples did not have this burner in stock, so unfortunately, that was not an option for me...but that is a great idea...and i'm assuming that you are still able to apply the $50 rebate to it as well? awesome deal man
