Quick question. I have a Toshiba SD-2800 DVD player which can handle xvcd's up to 5000kbits/s. I make xvcd's at 352*240 all the time but can not make them work at 720*480. The result is all that green blocky crap.
What I want to know is if I need to change some setting in Tmpgenc or if some players simply can't handle the 720*480.
Thanks.

The phrase "some players simply can't handle" applies to any kind of XVCD. Just because it supports high bitrates doesn't mean it can support nonstandard resolutions, VBR, etc. If it doesn't work and there aren't any comments in the database that specifically say it should, I'd just assume that your player doesn't support nonstandard resolutions.
