I just bought a Pioneer DVR-A05 and swapped it with my DVD-rom. When I tried to start my Powermac G4 with Mac OSX it just frose on the startup. I had to reset my machine and start it with OS 9.2. I also tried to update OSX superdrive patch before i change the DVD-rom drive with DVR-A05, but it said that it couldnīt update this machine, probably because it was just a DVD-rom in the machine. It will not start from an OSX CD either.
Have anyone else out there with an older G4 bought this Pioneer DVD-R/RW drive? Please tell me if there is a driver update or something out there for a macintosh. I know that the new PM G4 machine chips with the pioneer DVR-A04, so this drive should be compatible.

  2. But with all these MAC commericals, it should be oh so easy.

I'm sorry, I have to stop using that reply. It's not helpful.

I can not help, just had to say that.

I have to agree with you there, I hate those Mac commericals.

Windows, especially XP, doesn't break as much.

I had a dell Windows 98 for 6 years and have only had to open it 3 times.

1.) To add an ATI-All-IN-Wonder Pro
2.) To remove the metal shield of a floppy disk that got stuck in the drive
    3.) To add an All-in-wonder 128 pro
