alright i am using the same tools i used to make my vcd's. Smartripper dvd2avi and tmpgenc plus. So i use smartripper then dvd2avi then when i encode the movied to dvd i end up with the audio and video split and into 2 seperate files. I was wondering what i should do with it now in order to be able to burn it to a dvdr. THanks alot to those who help i just bought this dvdr/rw and i would like to make back ups of my dvds. THanks again.

well when i save it with tmpgenc its seems that it is splitting a m2v and a wav. Is there anyway to have this become one so i can burn it to dvdr

Yes, using TMPGEnc, close the wizard if it opens on loading. Load the wave file and select "Audio Only" in the "Stream Type" box. Name the resultant file, and it should be a mp2 file. Go to File-->
MPEG Tools-->Simple Multiplex tab.
For Video use the m2v, for audio, use the mp2 file. Voilá!Hello. -
I hope this works if it does i will owe you big time thanks a lot, Thnaks again for taking the time.

ok last question what do i choose when i use simple multiplex. do i save it as a svcd casue there is no option for dvd. Thanks again

Select MPEG-2 Program (VBR) after you click on the Simple Multiplex tab, then select your video & audio files, then save as MPEG-2 Program Stream in output.
Alternatively, select Stream type as System (Video+Audio) on the main screen before you encode, and this will give you your video & audio in one file...
