I was looking to take some video footage from my camcorder onto vcds. Im able to dump the video onto my computer but the file size is huge. A 10 second clip is running 45 megs. What i need to transfer is a good 30-35 minutes video. Is there anyway to compress the file size without losing the picture quality. I have adobe premiere and can transfer the footage into mpgs and avi.

20 mins of footage will take up 4 gigs in avi format and if your using fat file system that is the max file size allowed.
try changing to ntfs and then capture all your footage to 1 avi file (about 7 gigs for the 35 mins u mentioned)
then reencode to svcd using tmpgenc or other encoder if u like and burn with nero.
there will be hardly any loss of quality if u do it right and it will fit on 1 cd
