    im useing nero 5.9 when i try to encode a avi file of about 450mb it takes nearley a day. whats going on it never used to take this long. any help greatfully recieved

    Firstly dont use nero to encode, its crap, use TMPGEnc. How long do you call a day ? 8, 12, 24 hours ?. What format are you encoding to ? How long is the video ? And most importantly what are the specs of your PC.

    Without knowing these details no-one can make an educated estimate at the time it should take for you to encode. Could be 30 minutes, could be 30 hours.
