    I want to convert some rather large captured MPEG2s (1-3GB) to DivX. I tried Vidomi, but the damn thing crashed.

    I've heard lots of good stuff about Gordian Knot too. I personally would frameserve from avisynth into v-dub and do a 2 pass divx there
    entirely TOO much time on my hands
