Problems with burning vcd and playing on SONY DVPNS305

Hey,
Ok i've resently purchased a SONY DVPNS305 dvd player and have attempted to burn a vcd and play it on the player. I first converted the avi to an mpeg using TMPGEnc. then tryed burning the 500mb files using nero (using the vcd option of course). I then burnt it with no troubles, played it on my dvd player and it has perfect sound but the picture rolls (like on an old tape). I then tryed to create a .bin file using VCDEasy but exactly the same thing happened.
It'd be good if you could suggest what i have done wrong as i am new to this.

*edit* I've read through the section that is on my dvd player and no one seems to have this problem so it must be something i am doing wrong.

Iv'e been doing this stuff for a bout three weeks and iv'e found that i had the same problem when turning from a avi 2 mpg

try to creat a vcd in only a mpg
