    I just purchased a 55 inch wide screen tv, i have a apex dvd player and i was wondering, with this tv / dvd player is there any settings i have to do first, so it can be tru wide screen with no bars on bottom or top, or does it do it automaticly.

    With most widescreen TV's you have different display options. I think mine has about 7. Automatic, zoom, widescreen, 4:3, 14:9, 16:9, 16:9 subtitle. Something along those lines anyway, I am at work at the moment so I cant remember for sure. Anyway 1 of the setting should allow for a full screen display with no black bars, this may stretch the image vertically slightly depending on the aspect ratio of your source.
