    Can anyone reccommend a player that is easily region free, plays most types of media and is available in Sydney - Aus. A supplier / rough price would be handy too. Or would i be better off buying here in the Uk before travelling

    Recommend you wait 'til you get here. Prices are variable between arond $250 and $1000 and features vary a bit too. Also, if you buy there and bring it out, you're likely to have hassles with the warranty if things go wrong. Let alone voltage differences. ( I think you folks are on 110 while we're on 240. Not sure of this point but worth checking up. Could make for some expensive fireworks. )
