im sure im missing something, when i make a data CD with nero, all the file names are brought up to caps, the spaces are turned into underscores and the filenames are cut off, how can this be avoided?

Go to File -> Compilation Info -> ISO tab.
-Select ISO Level 2 for the file / directory name length.
-Select ASCII for the character set.
The text at the bottom of the tab will let you know what OS-es might not be able to read the disk if you create it that way.
