I would love to have a chat forum, for registered users, that allow us to discuss things in real-time.
I have tried to talk about vcd's or ripping, or just plain home theatre in general in other chat rooms (like yahoo), and no-one has a clue.
Of course it would take a mod to censor some stuff, but is it that far outta the realm?

look on the left column, you'll see webchat on the fourth box from the bottom.

well the best way to learn is to just jump in and start using it... There are a few tutorials around.. here's one

Having a IRC Java client embedded in the page that links directly to the room might be a better solution. I'm not a big fan of IRC and I suspect a lot of other people aren't going to want to be bothered with having to learn all the command switches associated with it. mIRC at best isn't the easiest program to learn how to use. Once mastered it's great, but it's a pretty steep learning curve.
