  1. Has any one used VCDEasy to burn FlipAlbums? I am looking for software that will burn my flipalbums created in FlipAlbum 5.0 Suite to a CD-R that I can play in my stand alone DVD player or Xbox with DVD package.

  2. I'm not sure but... I thought that FlipAlbum Pro and FlipAlbum Suite were capable of burning to CD themselves? I haven't tested it out, but that's the first impression I got when I read the specifications of that program.

  3. Yea, you do get that impression, but actually it just creates the files and then tells you to use your software to burn to cd.

  4. Oh, heh. That sucks.

Well, I have good experience burning stuff with Nero for VCDs. Just make sure that the files you have are already VCD compliant MPEG files.
That, or image files. Nero supports a lot.

What filetypes do you get with FlipAlbum by the way?
Personally I haven't had experience yet to burn with EasyVCD.

  5. I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm brand new to flipalbum and have only burnt one CD so far. I know that it creates vcd and svcd, but that is all I know without digging around in the software. I'm at work right now and can't look.

    Thanks for your input.

  6. I've tried FlipAlbum 4.x last year. It uses a proprietary viewer called FlipViewer. Even when you burn it to a CD you won't be able to view on a standalone player. You might be better off with Pinnacle Studio 8 or PictureToTv http://www.picturetotv.com[.

  7. Actually FlipAlbum is now on version 5, and that one is supposed to be playable on DVD according to their specifications. Maybe version 4 didn't support that?

  8. That's right. I have version 5 and it definately has the option to create for tv viewing. It states that it will play on most DVD players purchased within the last year.

  9. Then that gives me the impression they're either
    1) Burning to CD straightly or
    2) Making an image file that you then use to burn on CD with another CD burner software.

But so far, I have the impression it is 1) we're talking about. I might be wrong, I don't know. If you guys want me to test it.. I do have that program and could try it out sometime? I'm running out of CDRs though..

  10. I have flipalbum suite 5.0. I have already created a cd for viewing on the PC. All that flipalbum does is create the files. You then have to use your own cd burning software to burn it to CD. I've also read the instructions to burn for tv viewing. It states the procedure to create the file, then explains how to burn it to a CD using WINONCD software. It does not include the software to do the actual burning. That is why I have downloaded vcdeasy. I'm looking for software that I can use to burn flipalbums to CD-Rs and then viewed from standard dvd players on TV.

  11. Aha. Personally I've always used Nero to burn my VCD CDROMs. I don't know what the output fileformats are of FlipAlbum. Maybe it is a common image shared by most burners, then in that case you can use almost any burner to do the job.
