  1. hi i am just wondering if anyone can say honestly that if i capture normally as my video changes for some reason to swapping fields to not cause its retarded that if i just wait and find out after it is capped if i need to add a field swap while frame serving over to tmpeg will this give me any degrade in quality and as well how can i make my cvds look a little sharper and less pale so to speak

    Dude, you might want to sprinkle a few of these "." and a few of these "," around a little bit. As for field swaps, the only advice I can render is to check out lukesvideo.com. I feel he does a good job of explaining some things there and field swap is one of them... Hope that helps....

  3. ok whatever you say mr im not baking a cake ok my capture card sometimes swaps the fields making it necessary to field swap sometimes it doesnt. I want to know if i capture normally will my video suffer in any degration if i apply field swap while frameserving to tempeg after it is already captured

    That happens only with VHS tapes. A VCR with TBC helps a lot!
    Or you encode to a lower resolution, like 352 X 288/240 and you don't care for the field swapping.
