    Running ME & DRU500 firmware 1.0c. Am able to D/L 1.0d update OK, but when I try to install, I get box titled "CD-RW Drive firmware Update" that says "Detected Drive: No updatable drive exists". However, drive shows up in Device Manager & it's working.

    Also, when I right-click on the .exe file & select Properties, it shows CD-RW firmware update. Seems like it should say DVD update.

    Tech support had no answer for me, other than the obvious close all programs, etc. when installing.

    Anyone else have a similar problem? Does anyone else get that Detecting Drive box with a "CD-RW Drive firmware Update" title? Or is yours titled DVD Drive?

    i see ur problem. You are running Windows Me.

    I suggest destorying Windows Me in a fire or running it over with a car and buying XP.
