  1. I have an avi file when i view it some bad frames knock the audio off. If I go past the point the audio sync is fine. Is there a way to fix these frames or just cut out the 5 sec. of the file to keep the audio in sync. The bad frames look like the screen goes green and rainbow colors go throughout it. It goes away in a few seconds btw. When the movie comes back the audio is off though. I want to convert it to a mpeg2 file and was wondering if there was a way to fix this problem before or during conversion?

Load the avi into Virtualdub. Video>Scan video stream for errors. Then save the avi using Direct stream copy. Unless there are a lot of errors you can get away without adjusting the audio.

  3. I did run Vdub one of the first things I did. It showed no errors in the video. Any other suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean. If Virtualdub shows no bad frames, how do you know you have some?

Have you tried loading into Virtualdub, set direct stream copy for both audio and video, and then saving the avi with a different name?
