Trying to make a vcd from a quicktime movie I downloaded off of Limewire. Got the file burned with toast vcd. however, when i put it in my dvd player it reads it as a vcd yet the screen is blank. I am sing a cd-r so I think that part is correct Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I just dragged the quicktime file inot toast and burned it, maybe i need to convert it to something else. i am running mac osx jaguar on an imac with toast titanium 5.2. Thanks for any help.

This i suspect is a toast problem. I made a bin file with VCDeasy burnt it on my pc and it played fine on both DVD player and CDi player. I then took that same file over to my Mac and burnt the bin file using toast, and guess what it would not play in my DVD player. Funny thing is though it did play on the CDi player, although the picture came out in the wrong aspect. So does anyone out there know of any good Mac burning tools?

So far as I know, there is no better programm to burn a vcd then Toast. If you get the mpeg-file out of the web, the problem is maybe, that it's a bit corrupt. Usually it should be no prob to put it just on toast using the video-cd option. the rest is on Toast.
does the mpeg-file works okay, if you play it with videolan client or quicktime?
you don't have to convert the mpeg-file to vcd if it's a mpeg1.
It would be helpfull to use the "GNU vcdtoolsX" which you get from versiontracker.
good luck
