I don't know what else to do. I can hear sound while capturing, but it does not record. When I open the volume meters it shows no sound so I reinstalled my soundcard drivers and it didn't help anything. I get sound when I capture with the software that came with the card(ati tv wonder ve,) but I can't use my good compression with it. Besides I installed the sourceforge drivers and the ati software is useless now.
I tried iuvcr but it won't run at all on my comp. It would before I put in the new drivers but now it won't even run when I reinstall the old ones.

Good thing you are using the volume meters. Are you trying to capture in Mono, and did you check the RECORDING level audio devices in your system? You did not mention either of these in your post, and it may help to troubleshoot your problem.

No, I was going for 44.1 stereo and my line-in levels are all the way up.

Are you recording from 'Line-In'?
Check your audio record settings.

All it has in v-dub is the compression setting and volume meters. There is no audio source setting.

Your computer has more than one set of volume levels. One is volume levels which you can access from your desktop. The set we would like for you to check are called your RECORDING volume settings. They are only accessed by going into your contol panel.
