how can i fix a corrupt ASF file?

I have an asf file that i'm trying to convert to a mpeg file. When it gets to a certain point, it slows down the encoding in TMPGEnc to about 20 frame every 10 minutes or so. I downloaded asftools v3.1. Will that be able to fix the problem and if so, how?

i've already been there, considering that's where i got to ASFtools v3.1. Instead of just posting a link, could you try to help me?

I already tried to use ASFTools but when i went to repair it, it stopped at the same spot as TMPGEnc and wouldn't go any further.

If you looked down the page on the link I suggested ,there is another link to a ASF Tools site.
Convert it to AVI as it suggests.

i can't convert it to an avi as it's corrupt. It needs to be fixed. It's also on a cdr because i burned it there for future use when i would get a better computer and i don't have the original file anymore.
