I want to dump all of my VCD files to DVD, obviously because of its
    larger capacity.
But I'm too lazy to convert the
    audio files to 48K.

Is there any hope for me doing this
and having it play in my stand-alone DVD player?

    What is the biggest obstacle?
The Hardware specs of the Stand-alone? which laser???
Or, the limitations of disc-authoring software?

    Can't the white-book spec apply,
or be modified to DVD as well?

I know I'm in way over my head,
    but I'd appreciate any thoughts.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. The biggest limitation is that VCDs are on CD media and DVDs are on DVD media.

They are different enough so that it is impossible to put a VCD image onto a DVD (for one thing, DVDs don't support multiple tracks!)

Follow the VCD video --> DVD guide on this site on how to author a DVD with VCD spec video. All you need is a DVD authoring program and to reauthor your audio to 48 kHz (the authoring proggy may or may not do this for you).

    Regards.
