I've just tried the capturing of a new video card, WinFast A250 TD, "My VIVO Edition" and you know what? No DVD capturing is possible without the white stripe across the captured playback video.

This is macrovision at work stopping me having a copy of my own DVD into my own computer. This is ridiculous and never got this problem before. This is for my personal use only and this is all very well for the movie industry protecting from film piracy. They have gone too far!

What is the difference between capturing from TV, the VHS tape and from the DVD player? What about CD music recording into the hard drive, the same again. There isn't any difference as far as I am concern. Copying for my own use at home is fine by me, but not for the movie moguls. Blasted them. They go to hell.

I just complained to Leadtek, the makers of the video card of having no warning of the DVD capturing problem on their guides, their intructions and their web site. This is an excellent video card and they just won an award for the best video card on the market. The image is awesome. What about the DVD capturing?

I just have to view the DVD's and can only record from the TV. There is some DVD's and older video tapes without macrovision I can capture.

The only other advantage with the new video card is that I can view a different region DVD movie. My DVD player is multi-region and my DVD-ROM isn't.

Does anyone know how to bypass the macrovision in the capturing program WinFox PVR?

One last note: I just successfully captured a DVD musicvideo in another computer with the old WIN2000 TV card using another application. The video is an MPEG movie file.

Why are you "capturing" dvd when you have a DVD-ROM?

That is stupid because u can make a perfect 1:1 copy by ripping the DVD, while capturing from a DVD player greatly reduces quality.

a Region 1 DVD-ROM will rip DVD's from any region, it will just do it slower. use DVD Decrypter, I know it works with mismatched regions.

2.) Have u tried to see if their is a macrovision hack for your player?

Yes, I know what you mean. I just thought about ripping a DVD just now. I am just about to research into this using the guides of VCDHelp on the left. I do believe I have the resources to do this.

A macovision hack is not available as I already checked this and tried it out. It wouldn't work. Ripping the DVD is the only way. DVD Decrypter is the one I am looking for. DVD ripping will take me more time to do than capturing and this is only problem: time.
