  1. I have been encoding divx for years, however, XVID is a little new to me. I have been able to play and encode several XVIDs to VCD, yet some of the new movies will not play properly. They have green haze or obscured views. I have Nimo v5.0 and have tried both the sole XVID codec and ffdshow to get it to work. After installing ffdshow i could not get the video to play at all...instead only sound. I realize that this is a popular topic in the forums but i was unable to find a solution that worked for me in the old posts. Thanks

  2. after posting i checked my XVIDs in TMPGEnc. Although they do not play in Real Player or WMP they encode perfect using the XVID settings in this guide (http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/119019.php). While it would be nice to learn how to play them while in XVID format, i can live with only viewing them after encoding. so if you know of a solution great, if not dont worry about it

NOW I know the solution to this shit.
I uninstalled all DivX codecs and xvid codecs. Then I Installed only xvid to test if it worked and it did but with no sound cause it had ac3 sound.
You can install xvid codecs from here:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html

Then I installed all DivX codecs separat (Not from Nimo).
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec.html

After that I installed Nimo Pack but unchecked all divx codecs and the xvid codec and also uncheck a direct show filter which is Ffdshow DirectShow 2002-04-19. Install Nimo from here:
    http://www.btinternet.com/~nimosiro/

    Now all should work fine!
