  1. Hi Fellow Rippers,

Just curious if TMPGenc plus can make a higher quality mpeg1 file possibly almost as good as 480 x480???
I seem to have many problems when it comes to making SVCD's in mpeg2 format ie( covert with Tmpgenc plus 2400bitrate ,burn with Nero 35min of video, when I try to watch cd in my standalone the lcd display on my DVD player reads 100min and will only play for about 1sec then screen goes black) Although when I watch Video with Windvd it plays fine!!!
    Does anyone have any answers??
    Thanks in advance.

  3. It all depends on your DVD player. You could make a XVCD (non-standard VCD) if your player accepts it - this means you can adjust what you like when creating your Mpeg1 and you can get a very good quality if you set up high bitrates and resolution. You could also demux your SVCD in TMPGEnc to put a VCD header on it if your player does not support SVCD, this method fools DVD player into thinking that it is playing a VCD. All the HOW TO's are on this site.

    Regards.
