i bought the ADS USB INSTANT DVD capture box. It was $169.00 and well worth it(to me anyways). No Hardware/Software conflicts at all. Easy to hook up to the VCR. After about 20 minutes , I recorded a little of a VHS tape and burned it to dvd. I havent figured out everything and my sound was lousy(need a new sound card) but it played on the dvd player and the quality was pretty damn good. Ive heard pinnacle has software confilcts and Dazzle also. I used My DVD to author it. I really have to figure out what programs will work best for sound/size and quality, but overall i really like this unit. Ive heard you can use your ATI wonder card also, but i like things easier than harder.(grin)

You might want to consider the latest models of ATI's All-In-Wonder video cards. They act as a TV Tuner and are capable of playing games at a good frame rate if you dsire. Or you can try the Aver TV Studio at www.aver.com
