OK, obviously I'm new to this. My daughter just had a baby, I ran out and bought the DigiCamcorder, DVD-R, Pinnacle 8 etc etc. Took a bunch of movies, edited, authored etc etc and made a beautiful DVD (first try).
DVD Plays GREAT in the Pioneer A04 attached to the PC (2.8gHz P4, 1 gig RDRAM) but when I play back on the new Toshiba SD3800 DVD Player attached to my TV the video stutters .......
Any thoughts? I need to "re-author" this ASAP as a gift for my daughter.
Edit: Burned DVD at 1X, but the fact it works fine on the Computer DVD player and NOT on the "TV" DVD player is what confuses me.

Your DVD player is not listed on the DVD players list on this site so that doesn't help but it sounds like it may be a media compatibility issue. I can only suggest you download and burn one of the DVD samples to be found in the tools section and see if this plays ok. If it does, you have done something wrong when encoding/authoring. If it does not you have a media problem. If your daughter has a different make/model DVD player you may get lucky and find it will play fine on hers.

Thanks .... actually it is on the list (you need to go to the next page - I had the same problem.
).
I'll try your suggestion. -
I sometimes get this with bad media (not necessarily incompatible media). I would suggest you try the DVD in another standalone player as bugster suggested and if it works then it is likely incompatible media for your player. If it still doesn't work then chances are you have just got a bad disk, I usually get a few bad discs whenever I buy a batch. Try burning again to another disk or try a different type. The new E-Proformance discs seem very good for compatibility - I have an LG player which is very fussy !!
It could also be the burning software that are you using that may be causing the problem. The latest version of Nero is good and ULEAD DVD movie factory or Workshop have very good burning software. You can download trials from ULEAD, DVD Workshop is a good one to try for a burning test as it can burn directly from your existing VIDEO_TS folder which saves all the hassle of creating an image file first. You might actually like it enough to buy it !!
