I recently created an svcd using ffmpeg and missing mpeg tools. On screen it played perfect, but when I went to burn it only the sound would play. I figured this was because I used vcdgear to trick my dvd player into playing the file as a vcd (This trick works 98% of the time for me).

Since that did not work (and I can't seem to create vcds with ffmpeg) I took my m2v file that I created with ffmpeg and used mpeg2 decoder to create a large .mov file. I then put the sound in and exported it to toast vcd. Once again I had a file that was seemingly perfect. I burned it to disk and it would not play at all. Any ideas what may be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Figured it out. It seems that my dvd player does not like deinterlaced video. Works perfectly now.
