  1. just done my 1st few vcd's and one which i did (using nero) was widescreen when played on my pc and looked good - but when burnt and played on my player it didnt look as good for a start and it wasnt wide screen - therefore looked stretched!

    it was an .avi file!

and the 2nd i burnt was upside down and the worng way left to right also - was an .avi file too??

when i tried to change it to mpeg using tmpgenc the program just pauses and doesnt respond - have to ctrl, alt del to get rid of it.

is there something simple im just missing from the HOW TO's?

  2. It is widely said that you should not use Nero for encoding as the quality is poor compared to TMPGenc or other quality encoders.

If you are encoding avis that are encoded with Divx, xvid, etc. then you must have the proper codecs. For converting & burning properly look at the guides for divx -> VCD.

  4. Yeah... and just like kitty said why don't you go and have a look at HOW TO's, you might just find that the solution of your problem is also described there.

    Try this one:

Hint: Scroll down to Problems section.
