DVD-r wont work?

i have the VOBs the ifo an dthe bup of the dvd all in a video ts folder but when i made it in nero and instant dvd it wouldnt work..


how do i put these vobs and stuff onto a dvdr to play in a player.
im sketchy on what the word author is. ineed a clearer answer.
also why does it say it wont fit when its a 4.7 gig and my fiels are 4.6 WTF?

fields must be under 4500 mg...less is a little better

where did you get these vobs from?
did you rip them from dvd?
in that case did u use ifoedit?
get those damn vts sectors?
by the way,got them in a VIDEO_TS folder?
also did u grab menu?

i ripped the dvd! then i had 53 ifos 53 vobs 53 bups
i dropped that last 3-5 vobs so it would fit on the disc..

and i check them they are not menus and they are not important files just extra stuff i have read on here i am told i could drop .... i then had everything in a video_ts folder and an audio one too.. and i "authored" it
and nothing.. in mydvd it jsut gave me the file names for the audio and like quit. i dont understand.

ur files sizes are what?i mean how big?

been ripping for a while now and they are
around 1 gig each till about 5 or so until i
strip subs/audio out

never seen 53 files,not sure if anyone else has either

i use smartrippper u can set file sizes there

also if you dont have menu folder,also known as vob_1_0
if probably wont wont in set-top player
also you need to create that video_ts.ifo/bup file if
you didnt rip it,thats what bypasses menu when the
vob's get to big

like for example if you rip lost in space,after i strip everything
out you r stilll around 4500 or so,gotta go back and drop
credits but the menu is 400mg drop that re-ifoedit the
'sectors and then create new video_ts.ifo/bup when u
do this it also creates new vob_1_0 if u dont have one,
this is using ifoedit088,
094 when it strips,the video file automatically goes to vob_1
use it when u know for sure u r gonna be short on space

ps always wait until you strip everything out b4 "get vts sectors"
save them in ur VIDEO_TS folder i use nero to burn them
i also use a pio a04 w/few problems lately,also rw's have a
harder time reading in settop than the cheaper -r

but see the problem is tried the dvd out in the folder i ripped the files to using dvddycryter. and it works. lke if i pick ;;playdvd from folder it plays just fine i just dont know how to burn it. like open nero pick dvd-video or dvd-data and burn it that way or the way?!? i also removed the VOBS and ifos i didnt want and it sitll play it just did nothign when i went to those files. so whydoenst it burn write?

The maximum size DVD will burn is 4.37GB. You cannot just delete files to bring down to a burnable size. DVD decryter and Smartripper do not make burnable ifo's unless you use Smartripper in backup mode. If you use backup mode it will mirror image the files from a DVD on your HD. It must be 4.37GB or less to be burnable. Then you could drag th VIDEO_TS folder into Nero. If it's over 4.34GB you have to downcode the vob files.

i dont know if anyone besides me does this,but if
i see the main vobs over 5500 mg w/several
subs lang usually 6 combined or so, i automatically
go into the file area of smartripper(only one i use)
and strip the last chapter,usually lose 200 mg or so
then i use ifoedit to strip lang/subs leaving only
english w/no subs(hate doing that) then after all
said and done i get vts sectors after redoing the
video_ts.ifo/bup and burn it,then movie plays in
older sony settop and sampo 620,with NO MENU
