    Looking at the (new?) Samsung C621 five disk model, does anyone know if it will play vcd, Svcd, Xvcd, DVD-r etc...? Most Samsungs are pretty flexible in that regard... any notes would be appreciated.

    This player plays VCDs and SVCDs regardless whether it be on CD-Rs or CD-RWs. Haven't tried DVD-R/RWs yet, but it should not have any problems. The only problem I saw was SVCD Menus whenever you have multiple tracks. I have my music videos saved as SVCDs, and the menus intermittently work.
    Overall, I'm satisfied with this Player.
