I have just obtained a copy of Premiere 5.1 but it doesn't seem to recognise my Pinnacle Studio DV firewire card for capture. It can see my PVR250 (but obviously can't capture from it), but not the firewire card.
If I capture with Studio 7 and then use Premiere to edit, my only choice of output for the AVI is either uncompressed or the standard lossy windows codecs such as Indeo, etc.. Ideally I would like to be able to utilise the MiroDV codec that Pinnacle uses.
I would appreciate any advice or guidance on this.
Thanks.

I had a look at that thread and I will try some of what was suggested. Premiere 5.1 does seem to open my Studio DV files ok but I would happy to just ouput into a DV AVI and encode with TMPG or CCE - I don't need to put it back into Studio. Therefore I believe a DV codec is all that I would need.
